1. The Sandbar
I’ve been in Selma for more than one month, and this has been my go-to location for lunch.
Today, I had fried, and it was fantastic, on average I don’t like fried pickles because they get soggy, but this one was way better than any other fried pickle I’ve had.
They were sliced thinly and fried to a perfect golden brown and then were served hot, and it melted in my mouth with a yummy salty crunch.
The ranch sauce they made was thick, creamy, and delicious, and It went well with the fried pickles.
I also tried the fried catfish and shrimp basket.
The catfish was fresh and didn’t taste fishy, since it was coated in cornmeal and fried perfectly.
The shrimp were not overly coated and fried just right, so they weren’t overcooked or soggy.
Their hush puppies were really tasty and went well with the shrimp and catfish.
My server also suggested I try the Conecuh sausage and gave me a sample piece. It had a smoky flavor and was seasoned perfectly.
Each bite exploded with flavor in my mouth. Don’t miss out on this food experience, you won’t regret it.
