Due to the number of restaurants in Florence, choosing a restaurant that is worth dining at can be a big task.
After in-depth research and testing, we have curated a list of the best restaurants in Florence, Alabama.
By the end of this post, you should be able to find a restaurant that serves the type of food you are craving.
With that said, here are the best restaurants in Florence:
1. Sledge’s BBQ
Without any atom of doubt, I think this is one of the best BBQs in Florence and I believe it is even better than some BBQs in Birmingham, Decatur, and Mobile.
The only downside of Sledge’s BBQ is their limited hours, and maybe it’s a bit hard to find.
However, when it comes to the food, Sledge’s barbecue is the best in our area, the seasoning and the taste are exactly what you want in barbecue.
Even though it’s a small, locally owned place, you won’t find a BBQ restaurant that is better than this in Florence
Whether you’re having brisket, barbecue, chicken, or ribs, Sledge’s Barbecue does an excellent job with each one.
Because of how many people visit this restaurant, the management decided to renovate the building and make it bigger, so it can accommodate more people
100% recommended!

2. Homeside Restaurant
Whenever I’m in Florence, I always love going to this place for breakfast, and whenever I eat here I usually order pancakes with a side of bacon.
Plus the pancakes are really big, fluffy, and full of flavor, and the bacon is cooked just the way I like it, soft.
I’ve also tried fried pork chops, fried okra, black-eyed peas, and potato wedges, and they were better than I imagined.
Unlike some restaurants in Florence, the servers and waiters here are very nice, one time I was confused about what something on the menu meant, and our waiter explained everything to us.
The only thing I didn’t like was that I didn’t get a refill on my drink. But overall, everything else was really good.

We decided to try Culver’s again, this time using the drive-through, I had a bad experience at another location before, but this location exceeded my expectations in a very good way.
I think this is probably one of the best Culver’s restaurants we’ve ever been to, plus the lady at the drive-through was very friendly, and our order came out perfectly and tasted delicious.
Even though they were busy, and understaffed, the person who brought us our food was also very kind and even went ahead to go through our order again just to make sure it was exactly what we ordered.
They have redeemed the chain in my eyes!

You shouldn’t overlook Cookout, today, I couldn’t decide what to eat, so I decided to stop by there.
I had BLT, fries, and a large sweet tea know it may not be the most Southern choice, but let me tell you the tea is one of the sweetest beverages I’ve tasted since I came to Florence
We also tried a sandwich with plenty of bacon, and the fries were cooked perfectly, plus they serve it in a styrofoam cup with good ice!
One of the things I personally like about this restaurant is how fast the staff is, even if there’s a long line at the drive-through, you will get your food within minutes.

5. Momma Jean’s Restaurant
This was our first time visiting Momma Jean’s and our experience was positive.
Nowadays it’s kinda difficult to find a classic “meat and three” restaurant with a wide selection of dishes, great service, and amazing food, but Momma Jean’s is exactly that kind of place, without a doubt.
We had chicken fried steak along with sides of okra, green beans, pinto beans, and cornbread, and to quench our thirst, we ordered iced tea that was as big as a bathtub.
Don’t be fooled by the laid-back atmosphere, because the food is really good, and the service is nice.
Do yourself a favor and give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!

This is definitely the best gyro restaurant in Florence, AL
The restaurant is clean and tidy, and the staff is friendly and welcoming, and unlike McDonald’s the self-service drink machines were in good working order, and they even had sauces available in a self-service dispensing box.
I will definitely return to this place, and I highly recommend it.

7. Sam’s Sports Grill – Florence
The Southwest Grilled Chicken salad at Sam’s Sports Grill is always a satisfying choice!
Personally, it’s one of the items I always order whenever I eat here, plus the salad features a delicious bed of Spring Mix topped with grilled chicken, tortilla strips, and an amazing honey-lime vinaigrette along with a Thai peanut sauce.
If you love salads, I highly recommend trying this as your meal choice at Sam’s Sports Grill.
During our visit, we chose to sit at the bar, and we were glad we did.
We also tried the Black label Burger with a side of black-eyed peas and rice, and I think it is one of the biggest and most delicious burgers I’ve had since I came to Florence.
For an appetizer, we ordered the Irish stew, which is only available on Fridays, and it was fantastic.
They brought it to me just 10 minutes after I ordered it, if only other restaurants followed this efficient model, every dining experience would be fantastic.
It was our first time at Sam’s Sports Grill, but it definitely won’t be our last, my team and I plan on making this place our go-to place for dinners whenever we are in Florence.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, and I was amazed by the truly fantastic food, the portions were big enough that I couldn’t finish it.

We stopped by for a quick bite to eat, and I have to say, we’ll definitely be returning in the future.

Despite how busy the restaurant was, our server made sure we were comfortable.
This is my third time visiting this restaurant, and so far, I have zero complaints.
